The New Jersey Division of Taxation Nov. 28 issued updated individual income tax information for taxpayers in the form of answers to frequently asked questions. The information includes: 1) replacement checks for income tax refunds may take up to 60 days to be issued, due to volume; 2) although taxpayers may claim a federal deduction for health insurance paid for their non-dependent children, they can deduct the amounts for New Jersey purposes only if the child is their dependent; and 3) the New Jersey income tax rates haven’t changed for the 2023 tax year.
