The New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department Jan. 22 issued a news release informing taxpayers that the Department will begin accepting 2024 New Mexico Personal Income Tax returns on Jan. 27. Paper returns are due by April 15, while taxpayers filing and paying electronically have until April 30. The release also highlighted the availability of free federal tax filing through the IRS Direct File system and the state’s Taxpayer Access Point (TAP) for free state tax filing, as well as information on the New Mexico Child Tax Credit and Working Families Tax Credit.
