Complaints about New York City’s property tax system are questions of tax policy better addressed to the state legislature than the courts, the city told the state high court.
Tax Equity Now New York is asking the high court to reverse an appeals court’s dismissal of its suit on the grounds that state and federal law allow such disparities in taxes paid by residents who own similar property. The New York Court of Appeals agreed to review the case in April.
