New York Governor Issues Executive Order Removing Extension for Late Property Tax Payment Without Interest, Penalties

The New York Governor July 13 issued an executive order continuing the temporary suspension and modification of laws due to COVID-19 for property tax purposes. The measures include: 1) extending the directives contained in Executive Orders 202.31, 202.41, 202.42, and 202.43 for another 30 days through Aug. 12; and 2) clarifying that any extension of the period for paying property taxes without interest or penalties is no longer in effect.
