New York Governor Signs Law Amending Occupancy Tax Rate Authorized in City of Yonkers

The New York Governor June 28 signed a law amending the occupancy tax rate authorized in the City of Yonkers. The law increases the maximum occupancy tax rate the City of Yonkers can charge from 3 percent to 5.875 percent and extends the effectiveness of the occupancy tax rate imposed to Sept. 1, 2027. The law takes effect immediately. [S. 8900, enacted 06/28/24]
