New York Governor Signs Law Authorizing Retroactive Tax Exempt Status to Jaam’e Masjid Bellmore Inc.

The New York Governor Dec. 21 signed a law authorizing the Nassau County assessor to accept a retroactive real property tax exemption application from Jaam’e Masjid Bellmore Inc. The law includes measures: 1) permitting a retroactive property tax exemption to Jaam’e Masjid Bellmore LI Inc. for the parcel located at 1445 Newbridge Road in North Bellmore, for parts of the 2015-2016 and the 2016-2017 assessment rolls; 2) authorizing the Nassau County Assessor to make appropriate corrections to the assessment rolls if the organization would be entitled to the exemption if it filed the exemption application by the appropriate taxable status ...
