The New York Governor July 28 signed a law extending the authority of Nassau County to impose an additional sales and compensating use tax. The law includes measures: 1) amending tax laws, relating to hotel and motel taxes and a surcharge on tickets to places of entertainment in the county; 2) extending the county’s authorization to adopt and amend local laws, ordinances, or resolutions that impose additional sales and use tax to Nov. 30, 2025, from Nov. 30, 2023; and 3) extending the repeal date of the law to Dec. 31, 2025, from Dec. 31, 2023.
