The New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division reversed the lower court’s dismissal of taxpayers lawsuit challenging Nassau County’s property tax assessment system. The taxpayers alleged that the county’s assessment policies and procedures discriminated against homeowners in predominantly nonwhite communities, shifting a disproportionate tax burden onto them.
