The New York Department of Taxation and Finance May 29 adopted a regulation on fuel tax rates for sales and use and excise tax purposes. The regulation includes measures: 1) setting the sales tax component and the composite rate per gallon of the fuel use tax on motor fuel and diesel motor fuel for April 1 through June 30; and 2) reflecting the aggregate rate per gallon for purposes of the joint administration of the fuel use and carrier tax.
