New York Tax and Finance Department Recommends E-Filing, Direct Deposit to Speed Income Tax Refund

The New York Department of Taxation and Finance March 3 issued information to speed delivery of tax refunds by up to two weeks for individual income, corporate income, and trust income tax purposes. To get the fastest return, the department recommends taxpayers should: 1) e-file their returns because e-filing is safer, faster, and more efficient than sending paper returns through the mail; and 2) choose direct deposit into their bank account rather than mailed as a paper check.
