New York Tax and Finance Department Releases 2024 Form IT-2104, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, Instructions

The New York Department of Taxation and Finance Dec. 7, 2023 released the 2024 Form IT-2104, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, with instructions, for individual income and corporate income tax purposes. The instructions include: 1) an employer must deduct less income tax from a taxpayer’s paycheck when the taxpayer claims a withholding allowance; 2) if a taxpayer experiences changes in their tax situation requiring an adjustment to the number of allowances claimed, they should submit a new Form IT-2104 to their employer; 3) if a taxpayer has more than one job, they are required to file a separate IT-2104 certificate with ...
