New York Tax and Finance Department Releases Form IT-2104, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, Instructions

The New York Department of Taxation and Finance Jan. 9 released form IT-2104, Employee’s Withholding Allowance Certificate, and updated the instructions relating to the form, for corporate income and individual income tax purposes. The form includes information about residency, marital status, and allowances of the employees. The updated instructions include: 1) changes to the form, effective in 2022; 2) persons who are required to file the form; and 3) steps to follow for claiming the correct number of withholding allowances.
