The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance issued a press release announcing its free Taxpayer Assistance Program to help eligible New Yorkers electronically prepare and file their basic federal and state tax returns. The program offers in-person assistance from certified staff at the Schenectady County Public Library every Thursday from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm for taxpayers with federal adjusted gross income of $84,000 or less, and investment income of $11,600 or less.
