Nine West Seeks Commercial Activity Tax Refund at Ohio Top Court

Nine West is entitled to a refund of more than $800,000 in taxes on shoes initially shipped to an Ohio warehouse but ultimately sent to customers outside the state, the company told the Ohio Supreme Court Monday.

Jones Apparel Group/Nine West Holdings asked the high court to overturn a board of tax appeals ruling upholding the state’s right to tax the shoes in DSW’s Ohio distribution center that were later sent to stores all over the country.
