No Rebates in Massachusetts After Tax Revenue Misses Threshold

Massachusetts failed to meet a tax revenue threshold in the last fiscal year that would trigger a law requiring the distribution of tax rebates.

The commonwealth was not able to exceed the amount needed to distribute rebates, as mandated by a 1986 statute, State Auditor Diana DiZoglio said Tuesday. She made the announcement following a review of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue’s report on tax revenues for the fiscal year ending June 2023.
