North Carolina DOR Announces 2020 Individual Income Tax Filing Season Begins Feb. 12

The North Carolina Department of Revenue (DOR) Feb. 12 announced the opening of the 2020 individual income tax filing season and began accepting and processing individual income tax returns effective Feb. 12. The DOR provides: 1) tax returns are due April 15; 2) taxpayers who filed before Feb. 12 will begin receiving acknowledgments for electronically filed returns; 3) free online filing options for qualified taxpayers are available through the DOR’s website; and 4) some refunds may take longer than normal due to the DOR’s enhanced identity theft protection measures.
