The North Dakota Governor April 23 signed a law on provisions related to special improvement districts for property tax purposes. The law includes measures: 1) clarifying that property owned by a political subdivision isn’t included when determining whether the protests contain the names of the owners of a majority of the area included within the improvement district or a separate property area unless the political subdivision filed a protest; and 2) making technical changes. The law takes effect Aug. 1. [/ND\FINAL\2019R1SB2040///, enacted 04/23/19]
