NY Child Tax Credit Could Hit $1,000 Under Hochul Proposal

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) is pushing to increase the state’s child tax credit from up to $330 per child to as much as $1,000.

It’s the second proposal Hochul has released of what will be her Jan. 14 State of the State message, focused on addressing residents’ concerns over New York’s high cost of living. In December, the governor said she would call on lawmakers to tap into excess sales tax revenue to send $300 one-time payments to 8.6 million New Yorkers.
