NY Lawmakers Boost Tax Break for Affordable Housing Upgrades (1)

New York lawmakers are advancing changes to increase a tax break for property owners who make upgrades to affordable housing in New York City.

The changes are included in a bill that the state’s Assembly passed by a 110-34 vote Wednesday afternoon. The Senate passed it Wednesday evening by a vote of 58-3. It is the first of five policy bills that make up New York’s fiscal 2027 budget.
