NYC Property Tax Challenge Up to Panel Now

A judicial appeals panel is considering whether to lift a freeze in a legal challenge to New York City’s property tax system.

Lawyers for the city and a coalition of real estate interests and community groups mounting the challenge have completed their briefs in the case, clearing the way for a state Supreme Court Appellate Division, First Department, panel to rule on whether to keep in place a Nov. 30 stay of proceedings.
