Ohio Enacts Property Tax Reforms Amid Soaring Homeowner Costs

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine (R) signed a package of five bipartisan property tax reforms Friday that state leaders say will save taxpayers $2 billion over three years amid an outcry over soaring property tax bills.

“No longer will families see dramatic spikes in their real estate taxes,” DeWine said before signing the bills. The legislation “has achieved a delicate balance: protecting our schools, fire, and other local services while bringing about significant relief for homeowners.”
