The Ohio Department of Taxation Jan. 1 issued information on individual income tax filing season opening, deadline, and extension dates. The state will begin accepting and processing returns on Jan. 29. Most taxpayers must file their state individual, IT 1040, and school district income tax return, SD 100, by April 15. The state doesn’t have an extension request form but honors the Internal Revenue Service extension date of Oct. 15. The department also provides information on the form changes, the new online system for taxpayers and preparers, the Ohio Universal Payment Coupon, and the redesigned School District Income Tax Return. ...
