Ohio Tax Department Publishes Revised List of Local Sales Tax Rates by Post Office Jurisdiction

The Ohio Department of Taxation Nov. 1 published a revised list of total county and transit authority tax rates by post office zip code, effective Jan. 1, 2022, through March 31, 2022, for sales and use tax purposes. The department explains: 1) the list isn’t all inclusive and some municipalities don’t appear on the list because they aren’t large enough to have a post office; 2) smaller municipalities are included within the jurisdiction of the post offices of larger neighboring cities; and 3) the correct tax rate for smaller unlisted municipalities can be determined by applying the total rate in ...
