The Oklahoma Governor May 18 signed a law exempting from property taxes real properties owned by a church and used for educational purposes. The law includes measures providing that: 1) the exemption applies to church property used by an entity that conducts instruction of children from any or all grades or ages, preschool through twelfth grades, including religious instruction, if the entity isn’t required to make rental payments to the church and execute a formal lease agreement for its occupancy of the church premises; 2) a requirement by a church to be reimbursed by the entity for utility expenses, janitorial ...
