Oklahoma Prohibits Attaching Certain Ad Valorem Taxes to Annexed Areas

The Oklahoma Governor signed a law concerning cities and towns. The law includes prohibiting municipalities from attaching ad valorem taxes to an annexed area for a sinking fund to satisfy any judgement as provided by law if the annexed area was not part of the municipality at the time of judgement. The law takes effect on Nov. 1. [H.B. 1166, enacted 06/09/25]
