Oregon DOR Encourages E-Filing Tax Returns for Faster Refunds

Jan. 9, 2026, 6:26 PM UTC

The Oregon Department of Revenue (DOR) issued a press release encouraging taxpayers to file their taxes electronically to get their refunds and kicker faster. The DOR will begin processing electronically filed returns on Jan. 26, and begin issuing refunds for e-filed returns on Feb. 15. The DOR said that on average, taxpayers who e-file their returns and request their refund via direct deposit receive their refund within two weeks. Those who file paper returns will experience a significantly longer wait in 2026 due to processing delays. [Or. Dep’t of Revenue, Press Release, 01/08/26]
