The Oregon Department of Revenue Jan. 1 issued a frequently asked question (FAQ) on a filing extension for commercial activity tax (CAT), for excise tax purposes. The FAQ answer explains that, for tax years beginning on or after Jan. 1, 2023, an extension of up to six months will be allowed to file a CAT return, if the taxpayer has obtained an extension to file the federal return from the Internal Revenue Service.
