Oregon DOR Proposes Amendments to Rules Governing Income Tax Refunds

May 5, 2026, 5:06 PM UTC

The Oregon Department of Revenue (DOR) proposed amendments to regulations governing the deposit of tax refunds into 529 college savings accounts. The proposed rule updates statutory references to reflect legislative changes that renumbered the Oregon College Savings Account statute from ORS 348.857 to ORS 178.335, and revises language regarding tax benefits to reference the current tax credit system under ORS 315.650 rather than the expired tax subtraction that sunset after 2019. Comments on the proposal are due June 1. [Ore. Dep’t of Revenue, Proposed Reg. Section 150-305-0450, 04/29/26]
