The Oregon Department of Revenue July 17 released instructions for completing the Form OR-706, Oregon Estate Transfer Tax for estate tax purposes. The executor of a decedent’s estate will use the form to figure the estate tax. The transfer tax is levied on the entire taxable estate and is paid by the estate. The instructions include: 1) information on filing requirements including filing and payment due dates; 2) decedent and executor information; 3) information on how to compute the tax; 4) tax table; and 5) survivor’s information.
