Low-income Oregon families will be eligible for a new $1,000 tax credit for young children under a bill signed by Gov. Tina Kotek on Tuesday.
The Democratic governor’s signature on the bill (H.B. 3235) creates a state-level credit on top of the federal child tax credit, which is up to $2,000 for each child under age 17.
- The child tax credit is available in tax years 2023 through 2028 to families earning $30,000 or less annually, for each child up to age 5.
