The Oregon Governor signed a law concerning farm use. The law includes: 1) providing that land under certain farm crop and farm product processing facilities that are currently employed for “farm use” may qualify for the farmland property tax special assessment; 2) requiring owners of exclusive farm use land under such processing facilities to apply for the first year of the special assessment; and 3) requiring an owner of exclusive farm use land under such processing facilities to include information in an application demonstrating that the facility meets the definition of “processing facility.” The law takes effect on Jan. 1, ...
