Pennsylvania DOR Announces Low-Income Senior Citizen Property Tax Freeze Program

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue Sept. 3 issued information on the Low-Income Senior Citizen Real Estate Tax Freeze program. The program protects some of Philadelphia’s most vulnerable homeowners. The program is designed to give eligible seniors a stable, predictable real estate property tax bill, even when property values in their neighborhood rise. The issue also provides information on the ten important things eligible seniors should know about “freezing” their tax bill. Taxpayers must apply for tax freeze by Sept. 13. [Phila.
