Pennsylvania Finance Panel to Pursue Amended Tax Appeals Bill

The Pennsylvania House Finance Committee is working on amendments to a bill that would change how taxpayer disputes are resolved, Chair Steve Samuelson said Wednesday after a hearing where the state Department of Revenue continued to oppose the measure.

Amendments to HB 1994 should be ready before the committee reconvenes on Oct. 1, he said, not specifying what the changes would entail. The bill is nearly identical to SB 1051, which passed the Senate 29-21 in June over Department of Revenue opposition.
