Property Tax Rebates, Tax Conformity Heads to Minnesota Governor

Legislation granting $125 million in property tax relief to Minnesota homeowners and pulling the state into conformity with many provisions of President Donald Trump’s 2025 tax-and-spending law is headed to the desk of Gov. Tim Walz (D).

The end-of-session omnibus tax bill (HF 2438) is also notable for the controversial tax proposals that lawmakers considered but ultimately excluded. New taxes on technology and social media companies, and a proposed tax on wealth, failed to make the cut in the final bill.
