Minnesota revenue officials filed a rare criminal action alleging the owners of a popular Japanese steakhouse used tax-zapping cash register software to suppress more than $300,000 in sales and deprive the state of nearly $43,000 in tax revenue.
The Minnesota Department of Revenue and the Dakota County Attorney’s Office Jan. 15 announced criminal charges against Kehui Yang and Qiuyun Huang of Eagan, Minn. The two men own Shogun Burnsville, Inc., which operates Shogun Japanese Steakhouse.
