Rhode Island Tax Div. Announces Discontinuation of Annual Sales Tax Reconciliation Form

The Rhode Island Division of Taxation (Tax Div.) Nov. 10 announced that sales permit holders no longer need to submit Form T-204R for tax years beginning in 2023. Instead, the Tax Div. introduced Form RI-STR in late 2022 for periods beginning on and after Jan. 1, 2023, to align Rhode Island’s sales and use tax forms with neighboring states. The announcement also includes: 1) filers of forms T-204A (for liquor stores) and T-204W (for writers, composers, and artists) must continue to file those annual excise tax reconciliation returns covering calendar year 2023; 2) there is no longer a renewal fee ...
