San Francisco Bay Area cities and counties are focused on taxes as they consider measures for the November and March ballots.
June and July are when local officials propose initiatives for voters to consider—and housing and transportation are fueling a raft of measures. San Francisco is proposing ballot measures to tax Uber Technologies Inc. and Lyft Inc. rides up to 3.25% to fund transportation and to add a 1.12% tax on stock-based compensation to support housing.
