San Francisco May Put Transportation Taxes on 2020 Ballot

Transportation taxes could make a return appearance on San Francisco Bay Area ballots in 2020.

The Silicon Valley Leadership Group, whose members include such heavyweights as Apple Inc., Facebook Inc., and Google Inc., released a poll March 25 that found voters favored a one-cent sales tax over a $50 billion bond and gross receipts tax on businesses to fund transportation projects. And more voters polled support taxes for transportation than for housing in the nine-county Bay Area.
