The South Carolina Department of Revenue (DOR) Feb. 4 issued information on sales tax changes in Chesterfield, Beaufort, and Jasper counties, effective March 1. Beaufort County’s Green Space Sales Tax will expire, reducing the county’s sales tax rate from 7 percent to 6 percent. Chesterfield and Jasper counties will implement new Education Capital Improvement Sales Taxes, maintaining their 8 percent sales tax rates with the expiration of their School District Sales Taxes.
