South Carolina DOR Issues Tax Tips for Veterans, Military Personnel

The South Carolina Department of Revenue (DOR) Nov. 7 issued tips for veterans and military personnel for individual income and property tax purposes. The DOR included information on: 1) an exemption of up to $14,600 for veterans under 65 military retirement income, if they have other earned income; 2) an exemption of up to $27,000 for veterans over 65, and no requirement for them to have other earned income; 3) a list of income excluded from state income taxes; and 4) veterans with a total and permanent service-connected disabled qualify for an exemption for a home and land on the ...
