South Dakota Authorizes County Option Gross Receipts Tax

The South Dakota Governor signed a law authorizing counties to impose an option gross receipts tax of up to 0.5 percent on the sale of tangible personal property to reduce owner-occupied property taxes. The law takes effect July 1. [S.B. 96, enacted 03/12/26]
