South Dakota DOR Proposes Amendments to Motor Vehicle Titling Rules

The South Dakota Department of Revenue (DOR) has proposed amendments to excise tax rules regarding the electronic title and registration (ERT) program for motor vehicles. The regulations outline the application process and requirements for ERT providers, set an annual fee of $300 for providers, establish provider responsibilities for technical costs and tax collection, require retention of paper records for 5 years, and mandate compliance with technical requirements before system access is granted.
