Sports Betting Q2 Revenue Up 58.7%, Driven by New Markets (1)

US sports betting revenue rose 58.7% in the second quarter over the same quarter in 2021, boosted by the addition of six new markets in the past year.

Quarterly sports betting revenue was $1.42 billion, according to a report from the American Gaming Association released Thursday. Excluding the new markets, sports wagering revenue in the second quarter was up 8.4% year-over-year.

More than 30 states and Washington, D.C., have reaped income from legalization and taxation of sports betting after the US Supreme Court lifted a federal ban on sports gambling in 2018.
