Sales tax revenue increased 2.3% to $26.7 billion in April from the same month in 2022, according to U.S. Census Bureau data for 31 states compiled by Bloomberg. North Dakota rose the most, up 15.8%, and Montana fell the most, down 12.3%.
- General sales and gross tax receipts rose 2.4% to $22.5 billion and accounted for 84.0% of sales tax receipts (28 states)
