State Tax Group Reviews Scope of Report on Complex Partnerships

The Multistate Tax Commission’s project on sourcing of partnership income will dig deeper into an analysis of “blended apportionment” as part of its research examining the best approach to income sourcing in complex partnership structures, an agency attorney said Wednesday.

Commission staff attorneys presented an outline for a proposed white paper report to help states and taxpayers better understand the sourcing of partnership income across multiple jurisdictions where the partner is a corporation, or a complex partnership structure.
