A multistate effort to revise long-standing rules for apportioning broadcasters’ income across multiple states for tax purposes is gaining momentum under a draft regulation that for the first time addresses revenue from streaming and on-demand video programming.
The Multistate Tax Commission released a draft revision to the broadcasting special industry regulation. The new draft was posted ahead of a meeting of the commission’s Model Receipts Sourcing Regulation Review Work Group, which will discuss the draft Feb. 19.
