The Multistate Tax Commission will begin polling states shortly on their plans for conforming to President Donald Trump’s new tax and spending law, a commission attorney said Wednesday.
Helen Hecht, uniformity counsel for the intergovernmental tax agency, said the commission will be working with the Federation of Tax Administrators on a survey asking state revenue departments about their strategies for adopting or rejecting features of the new federal tax law. The commission will also ask departments if they plan to publish state-focused guidance responsive to the federal law.
