Task Force to Lay Out New Tax Approaches for Kansas

A new Kansas task force on tax reform will start work Sept. 24 in response to Gov. Laura Kelly’s (D) call for creation of a “fiscally responsible, fair, and sustainable tax structure.”

The group will take up issues that have eluded resolution in the state Legislature in recent sessions, including how to respond to federal tax reform, whether groceries should be subject to sales tax, and how to provide targeted property tax relief.
