Tax professionals warned EU policymakers’ effort to integrate potential changes to the global minimum tax system into its existing law could threaten the bloc’s rule of law.
“There is nothing” in the EU’s minimum tax law that accounts for a system that leaves out US companies from some of the fundamental provisions of the law, Daniel Gutmann, partner at CMS Francis Lefebvre, said Tuesday at the International Fiscal Association’s Congress in Lisbon.
