The Tennessee Department of Revenue (DOR) Jan. 1 announced that voters in the City of Gallatin approved an increase in the local sales tax rate to 2.75 percent, effective March 1. The new rate will apply to all taxable sales of tangible personal property and services, with a local tax cap of $44 on single articles of tangible property. [Tenn.
